Experience Godspeed Said The Rain.
ALL SONGS WRITTEN, PRODUCED, AND ARRANGED BY KOOSHA AZIM
An album that bridges worlds of psychedelia, folktronica, and singer-songwriter music to construct a uniquely immersive environment.
Each track is a cinematic world with the backdrop of dynamic environments, stormy weather, and themes of adolescent love. The songs reflect war, life, pain, and surreal landscapes. This ‘rain’ – both a force of nature and ballistic catastrophe – forms the premise of the album’s theme.
This album borrows sounds from the streets of the San Francisco tenderloin to Seoul’s metro stations. Certain moments synthesize life in Taipei, Taiwan – from remote Taoist temples and teahouses to Taipei 101. The sounds capture locations and abstract feelings felt in these places.
GSTR is a cinematic experience without a screen or projector to uphold a predictable sequence of imagery. Listeners are invited to teleport between fictional worlds as they listen from start to finish. Each song depicts the essence of a new world: a truncated landscape filled with nature, machinery, and extraterrestrial energy.
Recorded from February – December 2022 across various locations.
A sonic abstraction of life in Seoul, Taipei, and California. The story of year 19.
All tracks are produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Koosha Azim.
Cover art created by Andrés Zighelboim.
Videographic background art created by Jacobo Yepes.
The art captures a young boy showered in acid rain, a symbol for the project’s psychedelic textures, dystopian ideas, and coming-of-age story.
